Review: He Qi Beauty Handmade Eyeshadows

About a month and a half ago the lovely Lisa from He Qi Crystal Designs & Beauty  provided me two of her handmade eyeshadows to review. Now as always I will give my honest opinion on any product whether if it's purchased or sent to me. Honesty is the best policy for me in everything including beauty products.

Now getting that disclaimer out of the way, I was ecstatic when I received the package and loved the two colors that she chose for me. She gave me a hand pressed eyeshadow in Mocha Frappe and a loose eyeshadow in Vanilla. Both are highly pigmented and with these eyeshadows, a little goes a long way. I love the packaging for both, though some may find the pressed shadow packaging to be bulky. I don't find it bothersome at all. I had this in my purse and found it to be very sturdy.

This is just from one swipe!

The pressed eyeshadow was in it's BETA stage when she sent it me but that didn't deter the quality whatsoever. I found myself reaching for either Mocha Frappe or my MAC Satin Taupe as an everyday shadow. Both Vanilla and Mocha Frappe blend like a charm as well. They also stay throughout the entire day. I didn't wear a primer for the first few times I tried these shadows out but no budge.

What do I like the most about Mocha Frappe? It's versatility. You can build up the intensity of this eyeshadow to make a very sultry brown smokey eye, or you can apply a light layer for a day time look. You can use it wet as well for a soft brown liner.

For Vanilla, this is a great highlight color for the brow bone and the inner tear duct. I will even go to say that you can dust this lightly above your cheek bones, cupid's bow, or bridge of your nose for a brightening effect.

Here is an EoTD where I used both Mocha Frappe and Vanilla. I only used Sidecar from the Naked palette to blend the two colors so there would be a gradient.
So if you guys have time, please head over to Lisa's site, not only does she have handmade beauty products, she also has some wonderful jewelry pieces that are unique and quite beautiful. Support the handmade community!

What Do I Think?
Pros
-Highly Pigmented
-Easily Blended
-Very High Quality
-Handmade
-Staying Power
-Can Be Removed Easily

Cons
-Some may think the packaging is bulky
-Since it is handmade there may be less color choice

Would I Purchase: You bet I would! After my shopping freeze (Christmas reasons lol) I'm going to buy a few more. I have my eye on Apricot Creme and Midnight Sky.

Here my face of the day with the eyeshadows:

Hope you all are having a good week! Happy Thursday.

  2. It looks great and gave me a marketing idea--Starbuck's should license their product's names to a make-up company. They could even sell the stuff in different sizes, tall, grande and whatever name they use for their largest cup. =)
