Review and Swatches: Cover Girl Lip Perfection Lipsticks

Ok so I totally did not post yesterday like I promised. Bad Steph! Today's review is going to be on Cover Girl's newest lipsticks, called the Lip Perfection lipstick. To be honest I'm not a big fan of Cover Girl, I have maybe two eyeshadows and their Lash Blast but that's about it. Every time I used to try their lipsticks, it never worked, however I've read pretty decent reviews about this on MUA and also have heard some raves about these lipsticks on YouTube.

The CVS by me I've come to realize has some random sales. This week was a BoGo on the lippies which I  found odd considering these are relatively new. I didn't complain and snatch up 6. Yes, I'm crazy but I couldn't decide between the colors. I picked two from pink, purple, and nude lines.

(From Left to Right) Enchantress, Temptress, Rapture, Delish, Embrace, Divine

I have tested these colors out and found myself to be pleasantly surprised. They apply easily and stay creamy. There is a candy scent to it which I like. It's pretty faint so unless you dig your nose into the lipstick you won't really smell it. The lipstick claims to recondition and moisturize your lips. It has so far lived up to the claims. My lips are smooth and supple since I've been wearing it. Another surprise is the staying power of these lipsticks. I tried Embrace the first day I purchased these and it lasted uhhh....all day. It also stained my lips. The color didn't wear off until the following evening. So if you don't like having stained lips I would avoid the reds and the darker colors from this line.

The packaging is sleek and very modern looking. No old-lady packaging here! The colors are true to the swatch on the bottom so you don't have to worry if that is the shade you are going to get. The only problem is that some colors may be more sheer than others. For instance Enchantress is more sheer than Delish, but it's nothing a few more coats won't solve.
My favorites from the line are Enchantress (what I wish Pink Friday was), Temptress, Delish, and Divine. Divine is actually a close dupe for MAC's Up the Amp. It's a tad pinker than Up the Amp but it's pretty close.

Pros:
-Creamy
-Smoothes lips
-Long lasting
-Pleasant scent

Cons:
-Darker colors stain lips for days
-Some colors are more sheer.

MAC Viva Glam Gaga 2 Review and Swatch

Lady Gaga's newest collaboration with MAC is very different from her first. Instead of a bright bubble gum pink, Gaga and Viva Glam have decided to go for a softer more neutral nude. This is an amplified finish which means it applies very opaque and rich.

What do I think? I love the way it looks in the tube, but I feel it blends too much with my skin. I need a gloss or something to add a bit more dimension or else it just looks too blah. I do love that she has her signature on the tube like her first. I feel that this nude would be great for people with skin tones that are darker than NC30 and lighter than NC20. In fact it would probably look stunning.

Did any of you lovely ladies pick this shade out? If so what do you think? Let me know! I hope all of you have been well. I know I haven't been posting much but I'll have a quick review of the CoverGirl Lip Perfection lipsticks tomorrow!

NoTD: Borghese's Arrevederci Mist

This "greige" color is more grey than beige and is quite lovely. I'm not too fond of the Borghese nail brush, it applies the polish too streaky. It took about three coats to achieve the opaqueness I like. I do have to say that a part of the reason I purchased this polish was due to its name. I always think of Brad Pitt from Inglorious Basterds saying "Arrevederci."

Sorry the quality is crap, it was the best one I could find.

CL "Can't Nobody" Inspired Look

Taken from Jen's post on her 2NE1 CL inspired look. =) She's amazing.

Lately I've been getting into K-Pop with Big Bang, SNE1, you all know what I'm talking about. Anywho I decided to do an inspired CL look from the 2NE1 video "Can't Nobody." I didn't do the point at the inner corner of my eye or the lime green liner because it didn't want it to be too dramatic cause I was going out to dinner tonight and I didn't want everyone to look at me like I was all crazy.

What I Used:
Face:
-Lioele Beyond the Solution BB Cream
-MAC MSF Natural Medium Plus
-NARS Laguna Bronzer
-MAC Mighty Aphrodite Blush

Eyes:
-UD Virgin as Highlight
-UD Naked to blend
-Maybelline Eyestudio Eyeliner in Charcoal as base
-NYX Ultimate Pearl Eyeshadow in Black Pearl
-MAC Blacktrack Fluid Line
-Maybelline Stiletto Mascara Waterproof
-Shishem half lashes

Lips:
-MAC Russian Red in center of Lips
-MAC Lipglass in Emancipation

Tarte Natural Lip Stain Review

I've had this "lip stain" for over a month now and I have some mixed feelings about it. When I first purchased it, I loved it. I thought it gave me a great pop of color and the tingly minty scent and flavor were an added bonus. However the more I used it, the more I felt indifferent. Why do I feel indifferent? Well, I don't think it's that great of a lip stain. It applies like a balm and feels like one. That means that this "stain" only stains your lips after the sheen as worn off. It leaves a nice color on your lips after but if I wanted to wipe most of the product away to get that stained effect I could do so with a colored lipstick. So this is why I'm a little iffy about the Tarte Natural Lip Stain.

What I do love is the color and the minty taste as I mentioned above. I also think the packaging is quite adorable. It's a twist pen which means you do not have to sharpen it or lose any product. I don't think I would have spent the money if it were a jumbo pencil that I had to sharpen. Sephora retails this for $24 USD. Do I really think it's worth it, to be honest no.

Pros:
-Glides on smoothly
-Feels like a lip balm
-Twist pen
-Cute packaging

Cons
-Expensive for 3 g/0.10 ounces
-Product needs to wear off in order for the stain to happen
-Can sometimes make my lips peep

Would I repurchase: No

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone! It's a silly holiday but nonetheless spending it with someone you care about is pretty darn nice. My beau tells me everyday that he loves me though, and I wouldn't have it any other way ^^.

EoTD Tutorial Using Wet n Wild I'm Getting Sunburned Palette

With Valentine's Day lurking just around the corner, I decided to play with a fun flirty pink look. I found that this look is great for any day, not just Valentine's Day. I kept it soft and didn't even use my beloved Blacktrack fluidline to line my eyes. Wet n Wild has really impressed me with their palettes so far. All the shades are highly pigmented and also last. I highly recommend their shadows. Anyway on to the tutorial.

I used all WnW eyeshadows for this look, Brulee is a great matte highlight color! The dark chocolate brown color in the middle is very, very pigmented, use a light hand.

I forgot to add the step to curl your lashes and add mascara.

See how pigmented that brown is? I didn't even liner.

Talk to you guys soon!

MAC Wonder Woman Pictures and Swatches!

Without further ado, I present my MAC Wonder Woman haul!! At first it was tempting to get everything from the line because I'm a sucker for packaging but I stood my ground and only got a few things from the collection. Click on the photos to enlarge!

I could not resist the blushes from this line. I can't wait to try these!

Love these HUGE lipglasses! However I will say that will pose as a problem for those with thinner lips. Emancipation is a lovely nude that will compliment most skin tones. I think Athena's Kiss is a beautiful watery pink.

I have to say that Marquise'd is my current favorite nude color. I may have to get a backup of it! I think these lipsticks will pair perfectly together with the lipglasses that I picked up.

My lovely friend was sweet enough to take some photos of the products that she purchased. The Penultimate liner pen is quite large and will be great for those with a ton of lid space. The Wonder Woman lipglass is a true red that will flatter almost everyone.

Hope you guys enjoyed my haul! What did you get from the line? Let me know. I love sharing and hearing what you got. =)

Happy Friday!

MAC Wonder Woman Preview Part 1

I'm gonna keep you guys on the edge of your seat for the swatches and photos of what I got. Muahaha. Part 1 is gonna be some pictures I took of the event and just my overall experience of it.

I first received my MAC invite to the Wonder Woman preview about two weeks ago. Of course I called the next day to RSVP and told my best friend that she needed to save the date so we could go together.

I almost didn't make it to the MAC preview because of the horrid weather we've been having. I prayed to God and His makeup angels to have the weather be decent enough for me to go and my prayers were answered! I ran off to the city in the afternoon to meet up with her.
I RSVPed to show up at 7:30...I should've just said 7 because we walked by the place at 6:50 and there was no one there, when we came back it was SWAMPED. The store was locked and I got a red smiley face to show that I "checked-in." It was a really unique experience, they had these buff male models in tight black Wonder Women shirts serving drinks and cookies. The drinks were terrible! Haha, it was some sort of ginger mint Mojito concoction of a mess. The cookies were good though.

The MUA were all scattered about applying the makeup on to other lovely ladies but I took my request card and jotted all the things I wanted. My lovely friend also picked a couple of things as well.
Would I do it again? Only for a collection I'm super excited about like this one and also when it's warmer.
