Review Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Pure Hollywood

Anastasia Beverly Hills has quickly become a very popular brand. It was no surprise that when the liquid lipsticks came out, everyone would be quick to snatch these up...including myself.

The shades from the line are quite beautiful, ranging from nudey pinks to even a metallic blue. Out of all the shades (before her newly released ones) I settled for Pure Hollywood. It's the second lightest out of the bunch and could be described as a peachy pink nude. Of course the color I wanted is the one that's hard to find. The few times I went to the Macy's stand, it was sold out. Finally one day I wandered in and they must have just restocked the liquid lipsticks because there were five Pure Hollywood's just chillin in their cubby spot. I took it as a sign and purchased it on the spot.

The Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipsticks will set you back $20.00 USD for 0.11 fl. oz. While it's not crazy expensive it's not inexpensive either. To be honest, ABH has some beautiful shades but if you are unsure of how your lips will react to a drying, matte formula, there are other options to try. Sephora Cream Lip Stains will cost you $14.00 USD and the ColorPop Ultra Matte liquid lipsticks will only cost you $6.00. The Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks cost $20.00 USD but comes with more product (0.22 oz.).

While I love the color I selected, I found this formula to be very drying. I know all liquid lipsticks will dry down to a very matte texture since that is what helps the staying power but this one was painfully dry for me. After about four hours, my lips screamed at me to put on some damn lip balm. As the color wears on, it settles into the cracks of your lips, making lips look quite dry.

The formula itself is very liquidy which means you have to be precise with application. The first time I applied this, I pressed my lips together and found it made the color uneven and patchy. So no lip smushing for this product! Once you let the color do its magic on your lips, it evenly settles and dries down.

Overall, while I am impressed with the color, the formula isn't the greatest for me. So unless there is another shade I really wanted (probably a darker, more forgiving shade), I won't be purchasing another of the ABH liquid lipsticks.

My Current Favorite Lipsticks (90's Edition)

On Instagram yesterday in honor of National Lipstick Day, I posted a photo of what was in my current lipstick rotation. I happened to notice that all the lipsticks were pretty similar in shades despite ranging from drugstore to high end. Lately I have been loving the "90's" shades. I think it's part nostalgia that I totally dig these shades so much. I remember growing up as a kid and lip colors were either nude, red, or a brown-y mauve shade. While the shades aren't exactly as brown as I remember, these shades still make me reminisce of my tween years rockin' a nude/brown lip.

1. Sephora Cream Lip Stain in 13 (Marvelous Mauve)- It took me forever to get my hands on this lip color because it was forever sold out in every Sephora location I went to. Now that I have it, I am not disappointed. This is a beautiful dusty rose color that slightly darkens after application. For me it's a great everyday color. If you are interested in this shade, Sephora has currently marked them down. I think perhaps they are discontinuing the shades. Sad panda.
2. NYX Intense Butter Gloss in Tres Leches- Holy pigmentation, Batman! This is a shade that some wouldn't consider 90's but it's more of a nudey brown and for me a MLBB shade. 
3. MAC Faux- A Back 2 Mac pick, which I wrote about here, this is another MLBB shade and one of the many shades people have selected to get that Kylie Jenner lip.
4. MAC Whirl- When everyone went fanatical for Whirl lip liner I kinda went "meh." I'm not much of a lip liner girl. To be honest, I hate buying expensive ones because I don't use them much so I never paid attention to Whirl until MAC came out with it in lipstick form. Now this will be a staple in my rotation. It's one of my favorite colors to wear to work.
5. Maybelline Untainted Spice- Brought to my attention by Hollyannaeree, this was an unexpected favorite. I thought it would be too brown but in actuality, this shade is flattering on many skin tones. It's a little darker than Whirl and isn't matte.
6. Maybelline Touch of Spice- A rosy plum that leans more pink than brown. I included this in the group because it's definitely another lipstick I reach for often.
7. Urban Decay Matte Revolution in 1993- At first I didn't pay much attention to this lipstick because: 1-I was trying to avoid purchasing anymore colors and 2-I try to avoid hype and impulse purchases. However, when I swatched it in the store, the tiny Gollum voice of "Precious" crept in. This is my latest purchase but I am in absolute love with it. It's not as matte as Whirl but the pigmentation is beautifully opaque. 

If you are looking for a 90's lipstick, I would recommend 1993 or Untainted Spice out of the bunch I personally picked. Whirl is a close third but it may be too drying for some.

Lipstick Obsession: Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipsticks in Lovecraft and Lolita

I've always admired Kat Von D as an artist, whenever I would catch her on LA Ink way back in the day, I couldn't help but admire her artistry and talent. Her tattoos were always aesthetically appealing so when she came out with her makeup line in 2008 I was always intrigued but I never bit the bullet to buy any of her products. Now that I have purchased two of her lipsticks, I didn't know why I waited so long!

Out of all the colors in the Studded Kiss Lipstick line, I had my eye on both Lovecraft and Lolita, besides the enticing names they were the colors I would wear the most. Also, I've been on a matte kick as of late. Not only do they last longer, my hair doesn't stick to my lips when there's a breeze. Plus I think matte lipsticks are timeless.

Many people who have tried this lipstick line think it can be too drying. For me personally, I don't find the texture drying nor do I find that it drags uncomfortably on my lips upon application. With that being said, I would never apply this lipstick with chapped lips, unless you want to look like a hot mess! 

If you've purchased this lipstick and find it a bit drying, you can always apply some lip balm and use it as a base for the lipstick. I know many people have a lip prep during their makeup application. Remember that matte lipsticks have to be somewhat "drying" for their staying power.

There is no offensive scent for these babies. Sephora describes the scent as a light creme brulee and I would definitely agree. It's not as vanilla-y as a MAC lipstick but there is a definite sweet note to the formula. I don't smell anything after it's applied though.

Another thing I love about the lipstick is the packaging. It's sleek but edgy and embodies Kat Von D wholeheartedly. I can't but to feel cool when I whip this out in public to reapply.

One of the only things I can probably say would be a determining factor is the price point. It is $21.00 USD for 0.10 oz. of product. I feel the formula is similar to that of the Jordana Modern Matte lipstick line which retails for $2.99 USD. I absolutely love those lipsticks and even did a post on it here. So if you wishing to try a matte lipstick without breaking the bank I would suggest to try the Jordana lipsticks. However if you do have the money to spend, I would highly recommend the Kat Von D Studded Kiss lipsticks.

Current Favorite Drugstore Lip Products

I am a firm believer that you can find some gems and treasures at a reasonable or fair price. Currently I've been trying to curb my spending and it has been quite a while for me since I've bought high end makeup. While I do miss the thrill of shopping, I do feel a little better knowing I'm gaining some self-control and saving a few bucks here and there.

I really wanted to share with you two of my current favorite lip products. I've been using these on an almost daily basis. The first is the Vaseline Rosy Lips. Currently priced at $1.79, this cute little pot smells divine, leaves a sheer tint, and locks the moisture in my lips. It has been a very dry and cold winter so far here on the East Coast so this is indeed a lifesaver. I was also a fan of the Dior Creme de Rose lip balm, and while I still love it to this day, the price difference between the two is quite extreme. Each beautiful pot of the Dior balm will set you back $28.00. Another cult favorite is the Rosebud Lip Salve, which isn't really a favorite for me, as it provides too much slip. However it still smells beautifully rosy and floral and will only set you back $6.00 as opposed to $28.00.

The next lip product is fairly new and has been making its waves in the Blogger and YouTube community. The Jordana Modern Matte lipsticks are, in my opinion fabulous. While still matte, they go on smoothly with high opacity. I picked up two colors, Matte Blush and and Matte Tease. They are also a winner for me since the Hubster complimented my lipstick the other day on our lunch date. I know matte lipsticks are all the rage, but if you're looking for a bargain priced, quality lipstick try these out. Each lipstick is only $2.49.

Review: Maybelline The Buffs Lipstick Review

After searching online and in my local drugstores, I was finally able to get my hands on two of these ever so popular Maybelline The Buffs lipsticks. To be honest, at first I was kinda meh about the line and was going to skip out on it. Of course after reading blog posts and seeing swatches on Instagram and YouTube, I totally changed my mind and the collector in me needed to add these to my already large collection of lipsticks.

The formula is the same as the original Maybelline ColorSensational line. This means that the consistency, scent and texture are pretty much the same as its predecessor. So if you didn't like those, I would skip these. I personally don't mind the smell and find the texture to be creamy and slightly hydrating. Both lasted at least three hours on me without eating. With eating, I had to reapply after the meal.

The Buffs has ten permanent shades to choose from. The old me would have purchased all ten but after much debate, I decided on 915 Blush Beige and 945 Stormy Sahara. Some of the other colors were more brown and I'm more of a fan pinky/coral nudes. Blush Beige is the lighter of the two and definitely accentuates any flakes or dryness on your lips so exfoliation and balm is a must! Stormy Sahara is more of a "peachy, orange" nude that I just love. Both can be paired with a smokey eye or a natural eye, it all depends on your preference. Out of the two, Stormy Sahara is easier to wear, since it doesn't accentuate flaws as easily.

If you love or like nudes, I suggest you check out the line. The ten shades provide a variety that go from very pale to vampy so there is something for everyone. Plus the drugstore price makes it more wallet friendly (the BoGo sales always help too!).

Review: Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids in Shocking Coral and Vivid Rose

A makeup post! Ermahgerd! I know I'm a little late with these Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids but late is better than never. I was already a big fan of the regular line of the Color Sensational lipsticks so I figured I would have an affinity towards these. Bright lipsticks can sometimes be the perfect accessory to complete a look and these are perfect for anyone who wants to experiment some louder colors without spending a ton of money.

It was a tough decision for me to settle on only two, but I picked the two that I thought would best compliment my teeth and skin tone. I may venture towards the Electric Orange in the summer when I'm tanner but I will settle for these two for now. There are a total of 10 permanent shades in the Vivids line. 

Shocking Coral and Vivid Rose

I'm in love with these. They don't dry out my lips and go on opaque and smooth. I find no issue with the product settling into lines. There was only one issue when it came to one of these lipsticks for me. I think depending on the pigmentation of your lips, the color may appear different. For example, Shocking Coral is suppose to be a bright coral red, but it pulls quite pink on me. It looks more coral in the tube than it does on my lips, which makes me a little sad but I still love the color. Vivid Rose is pretty true to color on my lips. It's a great choice for girls who don't want to go with red but want a bright lip!

Pros:

-Bright, opaque color
-Reasonably priced
-Variety of bold shades
-Creamy feeling

Cons:

-Has the same scent as regular Color Sensational lipsticks so if you hate those, you'll probably not like these
-Some may find the packaging tacky
-Colors may pull differently on different people

Haul: L'Oreal Project Runway 2012 Lipsticks

You all know how much I love lipsticks so I couldn't help myself from picking these cuties up from Walgreens. While they are limited edition, I'm still seeing them all over the place at stores like Ulta, Duane Reade, CVS and Walgreens, so if you want these lipsticks, get them soon!

I decided to only get three out of the four lipsticks because I decided to be totally honest with myself about The Temptress' Kiss cause I would rarely wear it. So the three I got were: The Queen's Kiss, The Mystic's Kiss and The Muse's Kiss. Usually I'm not fond of the L'Oreal lipstick scent, but I love these colors so much that I ignore it. It does help that the smell dissipates after you put it on. My favorite out of the bunch is The Mystic's Kiss. It reminds me of a sheer version of Violetta, which I absolutely LOVE. Overall, all three are pretty sheer in coverage and you can build up the layers to your intensity. The swatches I have below are two coats just so I could show you the coloring on my lips.

Review: Maybelline Superstay 14 Hour Lipsticks

The last of the Maybelline lippies in my review queue! Again another claim of ridiculous staying power. Now, do these lipsticks stay 14 hours on your lips? Not on me, but staying power can vary. The colors I will be reviewing are: Perpetual Peony, Beige Forgood, and Please Stay Plum. 

The packaging is quite cute and you will be able to tell if the lipstick will be shimmery if you look very closely. If you just grab a color without examining the package, you may select a shimmery lipstick when you didn't want one. The cap makes a clicking sound to notify you that it is sealed shut, making it ideal for you to throw in your purse for touch ups.

The staying power of these lipsticks is decent. Applied on bare lips and without any gloss, these lipsticks lasted close to eight hours on me without looking too peeled or chipped. The most noticeable chipping was on the corner of my lips. Some of the color did settle into my lip lines as it dried.

Texture of these lipsticks is similar to other long lasting lipsticks. It applies smoothly, but as it dries you can feel tightening on your lips. It's not really a bad thing, but it may want to make you grab your lip balm and slather it on.

Perhaps the worst thing about this lipstick is the smell! It smells sickly sweet and plasticky. It reminds me of a rejected gum flavor. Be very wary of the smell. At least the smell dissipates once it is applied. Here are the lip swatches below:

Perpetual Peony- Is a bright blue based pink. If you love baby pinks, this will appeal to you. However, be wary that these colors can make teeth look a bit dull at times.

Beige Forgood- Is a lovely nude that leans more on the brown side. There is no shimmer or glitter. Depending on your skin tone, this may just mute your lips or make you look ghostly. 

Please Stay Plum- This plum has the most staying power out of the three since it does stain lips after it has been applied.  I think this shade can be flattering to most skin tones.

Pros:

-Many shades to select from

-Decent staying power, not as long as advertised

-Packaging allows easy transport

-Does not tug on lips when applied

Cons:

-The smell!

-Doesn't stay on as long as advertised

-Hard to decipher from the tube if the color is shimmery or not

Would I Repurchase?

No, I wouldn't. The smell really killed it for me.

Shop Mac, Cook Mac Haul

Hi my lovely readers!

Hope everyone is having a nice fresh start to the week. Don't let those Monday blues get you down. Think of the beginning of the week as the start of being an even more awesome person (cause I know you all are pretty awesome already!)

I picked up a few things from the Shop MAC, Cook MAC collection. They of course, were all lip products. I already had two of the Kissable lipcolours from the Peacocky collection which launched last January, but I went ahead and included them in the pictures. There is a slight difference in packaging between the two collections. The Shop Mac lipcolours have a thick black stripe on the tube while the Peacocky lipcolors do not.

I also picked up a lipstick from the collection. I had really wanted Quick Sizzle, but it sold out like a hotcake so no luck there. I settled for Watch Me Simmer, which is a crazy bright coral, pink shade. It's very spring.

The last thing I picked up was the Tendertone in Tread Gently. I have to say...I LOVE this. Oh man. I made mention to my mom how much I loved them when we passed the MAC store in Grand Central, and she just told me I have a package from MAC coming...I wonder if she got me more.

Review: Rimmel Lasting Finish By Kate Lipsticks

More lipstick posts! A quick review of Rimmel's Lasting Finish by Kate lipsticks. For those looking for a creamy lipstick that doesn't tug on the lips, I highly suggest you look into these. These lipsticks feel buttery and smooth when you put them on and settle into a satin finish that doesn't settle into lines or slip around. The scent is not as offensive as their Moisture Renew lipsticks, rather it is the same scent as their Lasting Finish Intense lipsticks (the dark purple packaging). 

The lasting power of this lippies depends on the color. The red will stain lips. The other two have an average staying time of 4 hours on me, less if I eat or drink. Again the staying power will differ from person to person. If you are looking for a lipstick with infallible staying power, check this one off your list.

The packaging is black and sleek, giving it an expensive feel. Kate's signature resides on the cap in a bold red to add a bit of pizazz. I definitely prefer this packaging compared to their flashy purple Moisture Renew lipsticks.

01- Claimed to be Kate's favorite, I feel this red is universal. Not for the faint of heart, one swipe provides an opaque deep color. When I don't want such a dramatic look, I lightly dab this on my lips for a stained effect.

08-I love this shade! It's the perfect everyday shade. This is just a tad pinker than my natural lip color and goes perfect with both a neutral and smokey eye.

14- Is the nude of the entire line. While it mutes pigmented lips, it does not create the "dead" or concealer effect. It leans more beige than pink. For those who like milkier pinks, this may not be the right nude for you.

Pros:
-Relatively inexpensive ($5.99 to $7.99 USD)
-Sleek packaging
-Smooth application
-Opaque enough for pigmented lips

Cons:
-Only 7 shades
-Some may not enjoy the smell
-May be hard to find in certain areas

First Look: MAC Viva Glam Nicki

I'm sure a few of you ladies got the MAC email in your inboxes to be one of the first to grab the new un-released Viva Glam Nicki. Being the sucker I am (yes I freely admit this) I purchased it. 

The promo picture of the lipstick is a bit deceiving if you ask me. It leans towards a more pale pink. The actual lipstick is really bright and no where near the shade Pink Friday. Both are Satin finishes, which I'm guessing is Nicki's favorite finish? As many of you know, I don't particularly care for Satin finishes. They accentuate and enhance every flaw on your lips and can apply unevenly.

I do enjoy the color. It's very, VERY bright. I see this color working lovely with medium to dark skin tones. Be warned, due to the yellow undertones, it can make teeth look a little yellow. 

In the end, unless you need this color in your collection or are an avid Nicki Minaj fan, this isn't a must-have. 

First Impressions: Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter

My lip junkie hoarder came out today when I saw the new Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter display at my local CVS. After reading so many raving reviews about the product, I just had to get my hands on them. Luckily, there was a BoGo half off sale so I didn't have to pay full price. I also had a CVS coupon for three bucks. Honestly, I wanted to get all of them, but I agonized at the display for at least ten minutes before settling on six. 

I didn't want to do a review post since I haven't had them long enough to actually give a full and valid review so this is more of a "first impressions" post. Looking at these lip butters, they remind me of the Dior lip balms. I've never tried the Dior balms to give you a comparison but they look very similar. What else can I say about these? They apply smoothly onto your lips and do feel moisturizing. The neutral shades are more sheer compared to the darker and more pigmented shades. For example, Sugar Coating is a sheer lilac pink that provides a nice sheen with some sparkle. Lollipop on the other hand is very pigmented and opaque. 

The packaging is nice, being somewhat similar to the original Colorburst packaging. The lipstick covers match the shade of the lip butter but still retain the aesthetically pleasing quilt patterns. Another plus about these lip butters is the fact that they swivel down all the way. I don't know about you, but I hate when I nick lipsticks with the cap because the product doesn't go all the way into the tube.

These lip butters retail anywhere between seven to nine dollars depending on where you buy it. At my CVS they were $7.49. If you can't get your hands on these right now, Revlon has stated these will be part of the permanent line launching in January 2012. There will additional shades as well.

Review: NARS Pago Pago Lipstick

Described as a "shimmering pink" lipstick, Pago Pago is part of the NARS Sheer Lipstick line. According to Sephora, each NARS lipstick is "enriched with vitamin E to increase wearability and keep true color intact." Pago Pago was released with the summer line and I believe is a permanent color. NARS lipsticks retail for $24 USD.

The lipstick itself is easy to apply and has a balm like feel to it. Due to the fact it is part of the sheer line, the opacity is minimal. Once applied onto my lips, it muted the pigmentation slightly but also gave of a hint of pink and shimmer. The translucence of the color may attract many people since it's easy to apply and will flatter most skin tones, however; the shimmer may deter some since it may be deemed "not work appropriate." I only found the shimmer to be very noticeable up close and also when it was close to reapplication.

The wear on this lipstick is about 3 hours. If you are a lip licker, it may be shorter. The smoothness of Pago Pago allows for more slip and less staying power. You will be left with remaining shimmer. However the shimmer particles are not gritty on your lips, which is a plus.

For me, this is a great lipstick for a lunch date, running errands or for those who wish to have a natural feel with a little kick (the shimmer). Those who wish for more opacity should stay away from Pago Pago.

Review and Swatches: Cover Girl Lip Perfection Lipsticks

Ok so I totally did not post yesterday like I promised. Bad Steph! Today's review is going to be on Cover Girl's newest lipsticks, called the Lip Perfection lipstick. To be honest I'm not a big fan of Cover Girl, I have maybe two eyeshadows and their Lash Blast but that's about it. Every time I used to try their lipsticks, it never worked, however I've read pretty decent reviews about this on MUA and also have heard some raves about these lipsticks on YouTube.

The CVS by me I've come to realize has some random sales. This week was a BoGo on the lippies which I  found odd considering these are relatively new. I didn't complain and snatch up 6. Yes, I'm crazy but I couldn't decide between the colors. I picked two from pink, purple, and nude lines.

I have tested these colors out and found myself to be pleasantly surprised. They apply easily and stay creamy. There is a candy scent to it which I like. It's pretty faint so unless you dig your nose into the lipstick you won't really smell it. The lipstick claims to recondition and moisturize your lips. It has so far lived up to the claims. My lips are smooth and supple since I've been wearing it. Another surprise is the staying power of these lipsticks. I tried Embrace the first day I purchased these and it lasted uhhh....all day. It also stained my lips. The color didn't wear off until the following evening. So if you don't like having stained lips I would avoid the reds and the darker colors from this line.

The packaging is sleek and very modern looking. No old-lady packaging here! The colors are true to the swatch on the bottom so you don't have to worry if that is the shade you are going to get. The only problem is that some colors may be more sheer than others. For instance Enchantress is more sheer than Delish, but it's nothing a few more coats won't solve.

My favorites from the line are Enchantress (what I wish Pink Friday was), Temptress, Delish, and Divine. Divine is actually a close dupe for MAC's Up the Amp. It's a tad pinker than Up the Amp but it's pretty close. 

Pros:

-Creamy
-Smoothes lips
-Long lasting
-Pleasant scent

Cons:

-Darker colors stain lips for days
-Some colors are more sheer.

MAC Viva Glam Gaga 2 Review and Swatch

Lady Gaga's newest collaboration with MAC is very different from her first. Instead of a bright bubble gum pink, Gaga and Viva Glam have decided to go for a softer more neutral nude. This is an amplified finish which means it applies very opaque and rich.

What do I think? I love the way it looks in the tube, but I feel it blends too much with my skin. I need a gloss or something to add a bit more dimension or else it just looks too blah. I do love that she has her signature on the tube like her first. I feel that this nude would be great for people with skin tones that are darker than NC30 and lighter than NC20. In fact it would probably look stunning.

Review: L'Oreal Infallible Lipcolor in Linda's Beige

Just a quick review on L'Oreal's Infallible lip color in Linda's Beige. This is a nice true nude that is very pretty and great for a lunch date or a dat out running errands. I also do have the Beyonce Red and I wanted to do an experiment with how long it lasted on me however the pictures I took on my phone were crap so I scrapped the idea.

So does the lipstick live up to the hype of being infallible? It depends. The Beyonce Red lipstick does not budge on me. It rarely chips and lasts through eating, drinking, kissing all that jazz. Linda's Beige doesn't stay as well on me. I don't know if the formulas are different but Linda's Beige does chip faster on me. I am not really a fan of the texture of long lasting lippies. They just feel gritty on my lips when I rub them together. The color is lovely though and I do find myself wearing it when I'm out running errands because I know it won't bleed or smear.

A lot of people complain that long lasting lipsticks don't really last and chip and aren't worth the money. You must make sure to follow the directions and put this lipstick on bare lips. This means no balm or anything of the sort. You also must make sure that the color has fully dried before applying the top coat. If you apply step 2 and see residual color on the stick, that means you didn't wait long enough. You'll be able to tell if it's fully dry by whether or not it's still tacky. I've also read it depends on the PH balance of your body that causes the lipstick to chip faster. Not too sure why this is though.

MAC Pink Friday Lipstick Designed By Nicki Minaj

I got my hands on it! This lipstick, a product of MAC's collaboration with Nicki Minaj has created a frenzy in the makeup world. Even people who don't know who Nicki Minaj is have been wanting this lipstick because of how exclusive it is. Starting from November 26, 2010 Pink Friday will be available every Friday until December 17, 2010. Could you get any more limited edition than that?

I stayed up last Thursday night to order the lipstick. MAC's page at midnight was ridiculously slow due to the high traffic and I was doubtful that I would snag one. Thank goodness I got it though!

The lipstick is a beautiful color in the tube, a bright Barbie Pink. It's a satin finish meaning it comes off semi-matte. 

What do I think of it? I think if you have Pink Noveau or Snob or even Viva Glam Gaga you might be all right not purchasing this lipstick. I am a fan of Nicki's fashion and music so that's my reasoning for wanting to get it.  The color looks more Barbie Pink in the tube. It appears lighter on my lips and it took me about three coats to get it to that intensity. I must admit that this shade is for acquired taste.  I also wish that the packaging would have been more unique. I would have loved it if her signature was on the tube or something like that to establish that it's her lipstick.

Pink Friday may not be appealing to some especially since this shade might make teeth look yellowish and it also might be too bright for others. I've also realized that I'm not too much of a big fan of the satin finish. I prefer the lustre finish the most. 

Here are comparison swatches of Pink Friday against MAC's Lavender Whip and Viva Glam Gaga. I don't have Pink Noveau or Snob to compare but hopefully my swatches will give you a general idea of the color.

I think that with some experimenting this color will be fun. What do you guys think? Have any of you gotten your hands on it?

Revlon Vintage Lipstick Fire & Ice

Revlon is celebrating over 75 years of bringing cosmetics to women all over the world. With this celebration they have a beautiful limited edition version of their lipstick Fire & Ice. It's a great pop of red with warm undertones that screams retro, oozes sensuality and Va-Va Voom Divaness. This lipstick is for the bold and for those who looking to channel their inner pin up girl within. The consistency is very creamy and applies very opaque. I don't know what it is but this is the best lustrous Revlon lipstick of mine, all the others do not apply as nicely or evenly on my lips.

The actual color is a permanent color but if you want the sleek and gorgeous vintage packaging, you better run quick to your local drugstore before these are all gone! Price is the same as a regular Revlon lipstick which runs from 8 to 9 USD.

Pros:
-Creamy consistency that doesn't dry your lips
-Beautiful packaging
-Is probably universally flattering for all skin tones
-Affordable
-Very opaque and easy to apply

Cons
-Packaging is limited edition =(

Would I Repurchase: Yes definitely, even without the lovely retro packaging.
