Alice and Love Package!

Look what I got in the mail today!

Yup I got me the Urban Decay Alice In Wonderland Book of Shadows! I know that many of the colors are just renamed. For instance Oil Slick is Jabberwocky but it really didn't matter to me because I really wanted this palette due to my love for Disney and of course makeup! Not only does this palette come with 16 shadows it comes with two full sized Glide On eyeliners and a small Urban Decay Primer Potion. The price was $52.00 USD. I don't know if they have restocked on the site but when I ordered it last Friday it was sold out by the end of the day. Sephora and some other cosmetic retailers are going to have these in stock but I think that they will go pretty fast due to how popular Alice in Wonderland and Tim Burton are! Hurry and get them!

And here are the colors in this awesome palette

If you guys want swatches let me know!

I also got my package from Stephanie! (Julu Jewelry/Beauty and Gardens) We did a swap and not only did she send me the goodies she told me she would, she sent extra ones! Thanks babes!

Eyeshadows, candy, lip balm, and Almond gelatin! Thank you soo much Steph. I am so excited to try the Shisem's! I kinda like the way my eyes look when I have falsies on lately. I feel they open them up so much. I am already lemming the Sugar Lip gloss as well. It smells so good that I could eat it.

I know this was a quick post. If I don't update this weekend I hope all of your wonderful beautiful ladies have a great weekend!

Maybelline Eyestudio Quads

So these quads have been hitting Youtube by storm! I think I've seen quite a few Gurus talking about this. I was asked by Steph of Julu Jewelry/Beauty and Gardens to talk about these so this entry is for you babes!
These quads I am speaking about are the Maybelline Eyestudio Quads NOT the Maybelline Stylish Smokes Quads which has also been a favorite amongst bloggers and Youtube. I found mine at my local CVS for $9.99. Yes it is quite pricey compared to the Stylish Smokes which are priced at around $5.99 so if you're trying to save money I again would wait for a BoGo or a buy one and get half price. (Again I just want to say that these are just my opinions about the product )

So I picked up 3 of these quads because I'm a sucker for colors. The ones I picked I think are best suited for everyday smokey look.

Sorry about the terrible lighting. I am still working on my camera skills. =D. These quads don't have individual eyeshadow names so you don't have to worry about remembering too many names. =)

So what do I think about these quads? I think that they are ok. Not amazing but not terrible. I think with the price they have them at I would want something really great especially for a drugstore brand but I can't complain too much I guess. The colors are pretty pigmented especially when you pick them up with your finger. There is no problem picking the eyeshadow up with you brush. I have had some eyeshadows where I feel like I have to dip the brush in it several times for it to get remotely close to the color I want. One thing about this that makes me go "ehh" is that this is sparkly. All the shadows in the quads have some sort of shimmer and there is no matte shadows to counter it. The one that is super duper sparkly is the highlight color in the quads. Another thing that works against these quads is the blending factor. To me, it's easy to blend the colors away so don't take that blending brush and get too happy with it lol!

My favorite out of the three I've chose is probably Taupe Temptress. It looks really purple in the pan but I think the color comes out pretty neutral. Here are the swatches on my arm of each of the quads. See how pigmented it is?

Has anyone else tried these quads? I would love to know your opinion!

Haiti

I know this is a makeup/fashion blog with tidbits of my personal life, but I cannot help but be affected by the traumatic events that have happened in Haiti. This poor country is in shambles right now and everyone there is suffering. I find it very hard to watch the news as they uncover the aftermath of this terrible earthquake. My eyes begin to well with tears as I think that all these people have been affected in some way, that they have lost a friend, a mother, a father, sons, daughters, even pets. When you see them on the street injured and in pain you realize that these people don't have the sufficient supplies or funds to help themselves, this is why it's so important not just for us, but for everyone to help. So today's post won't be about a haul I've gotten or my FoTD or EoTD, today's post is going to be just for these people. We cannot turn a blind eye to them as painful as it is to watch or hear about, we need to help those in need.

Taken from DailyMail News

The great Muhammad Ali once said "The service you give to people is the rent you pay for room and board here on Earth" I find this to be very true. Instead of spending energy being negative about something, realize that things could be a lot worse, realize that all that energy spent could be put into something positive for yourself or even for someone else. You know that happy feeling you get when you know you made someone's day? Even if you can only donate five dollars it's still something. If 500 people gave only five dollars that would be twenty-five hundred dollars to help a family, to rebuild a home, to provide food or fresh water to those that desperately need it. Or if you can't donate any money because your situation is tough, say a prayer for them, wish that this country can get out of this situation through the strength within them as a people and also through the aid that has been given to them. Please, please, please help these people out.

Here is the CNN page that provides all the legit places to donate or send necessities to:

Or if you don't want to use your credit card or can't make it to the post office/UPS:
Text HAITI to 90999 and $10 dollars will be charged to your phone bill and donated to the Red Cross fund
Thanks for reading all, and remember to take the time to tell the people you care about that you love them or miss them because life is so fleeting. Remember we call it the "present" because it is truly a gift. Be safe everyone <3

My Mac Haul

So here is what I have gotten from my GCs to Mac!! =) I'm so happy that I am finally getting into Mac products, I am in love with their glosses, lipsticks, lip products. Notice a trend? Anyway, these are some pictures I took of what I got.

So I picked up the Cremesheens because they are going to discontinue them soon =( booo. A lipglass from the Love Lace collection, a regular lipglass and lipstick, two lipsticks from the All Ages, All Races, All Sexes collection and the pearlmatte face powder from their Lillyland collection. I took pictures of each and swatches to show you guys what the color looks like on skin =)

The first this is the face powder from Lillyland. (The picture is taken with a flash) The photo is pretty true to the colors in this powder. You can probably swirl them all with a kabuki and lightly dust it all over your face for a nice glow or you can use the colors separately to contour and highlight your face. The design on it is beautiful. I can't wait to start using it!

Here is the swatch. The colors were swatched starting from the largest part going clockwise. =)

The next is Mac's matte lipstick in Russian Red. It's a red blue matte that I think is a beautiful red. It's great for those days when you wanna be a vixen and glam it up

The only thing I would recommend is for you to prime your lips with lip balm or chapstick or whatever you use because being that this is a matte, your lips will dry out a bit. Oh and of course for you to line your lips as well ^__^

Next are the lipsticks from the All Ages, All Races, All Sexes collection. They are very pretty sheer lustres.

The left is Myself and the right is Equality. I accidentally dropped my Equality lipstick when I got it. Even though it didn't break you can see the marks from the carpet. (Don't worry I sanitized it thoroughly) Myself is very close to my natural lip color when I put it on and Equality is a buildable nude that can be put on along with another lipstick or gloss over it. I think it makes my look too blah by itself. Here are the swatches. The left is Myself and the right is Equality.

Next are the glosses! Yay, probably what you guys really want to see =). So I got two Cremesheen glosses one in Boy Bait, the other in Ever So Rich. I also got a Dazzleglass in Baby Sparks. I am in love with each one. Baby Sparks is a bit sticky like Mac's lipglasses but the Cremesheens are not sticky! They are creamy and smooth and sheer. Mac is going to be discontinuing the Cremesheen glosses so if you guys want them you need to snatch them out now! The only complaint I have with these glosses is that you pay more for less. A Cremesheen/Dazzleglass is $18.00 USD for 1.92g/0.06 oz. A lipglass is $14.00 USD for 4.8g/0.17 oz. They just make it seem like it's more cause of the packaging. Good way of tricking us into thinking we're getting more Mac! *shakes fist*

Here are the swatches (From left to right: Ever So Rich, Boy Bait, Baby Sparks)

The last things are the two lipglasses I picked up. I picked up one from the Love Lace collection called Icescape. I was actually surprised that they still had anything from that collection still there considering how long it's been out! The other was just a lipglass from their regular line called Florabundance. Icescape is a beautiful sheer iridescent pink color and Florabundance is a pigmented peachy pink color. Both are sticky, but if you a Mac fan or have tried any of Mac's lipglasses you would know this already, me reiterating it is just for those of you who want to try these out =)

The swatches: Icescape on left and Florabundance on right (My hand is red from wiping off all the other glosses and lipsticks so don't pay attention to that =P)

Oh I forgot to say that all these lip products have the signature Mac Vanilla smell, which I love, but I know some people are not fans of this.  This blog post was pretty picture happy. I hope you guys enjoy and if you want to know more about them just ask! =) Take care all!

Photo Tag!

I was tagged by the lovely Megan for this photo tag. Here are the rules:

1-Open your first photo folder
2-Scroll to the 10th photo
3-Post the photo & Story behind it
4-Tag 5 or More People

This photo was taken by me when we got our second car. A brand new Nissan Altima Hybrid. This was John after work when we went to go pick it up! =) See how excited he is? You can see me in the reflection taking a picture. LoL. This was back when I had blonde hair. The shot was probably taken over a year and half ago so this is a pretty old picture I managed to pick. He was so sweet that day because he let me into the driver seat to turn the car on first, I blessed it! That was a pretty exciting day.

Now I tag
1-Stephanie
2-swtxscape
3-April
4-Loho
5-Denysia

This isn't part of the tag but my bestie sent our Christmas package along with my late birthday gift and look!

She got me the Converses by Product Red. Part of the proceeds goes to funding Aids Research in Africa. I love them! They are super cushy and different from every other pair of Converses I have =) Thank you love!!

Ignore my wet hair lol

Check you guys out later! =)

My HG Nude Lipstick!

I found it today at CVS!

I went in today to pick up my Glamour magazine and saw the new line of lipsticks that Revlon has introduced. It's called Color Burst Lipstick and I picked up two colors, one in Soft Nude (070) and the other in Baby Pink (020) The packaging kind of reminds me of the Chanel Print on some of their bags. I really like the fact that Revlon is upgrading their packaging!

The pink is pretty sheer with the ability to build up to your preferred intensity of color. It has a bit of a pearlescent to it, it's very soft and creamy. I love the textures of the these lipsticks, they're creamy non-drying and I am completely in love! The Soft Nude I find much better in texture compared to the Revlon's Matte Nude Attitude. I know it's Matte but it left my lips considerably dry and I looked somewhat dead. This doesn't wash me out and I can it wear it by itself.

Here is the color without any gloss. See how nice it is! It doesn't really settle into lines like my Nude attitude does. You guys should definitely go try these babies out!

Where's the Fire??

It's on my head!!!

After several attempts this week I'm surprised I'm not bald! I love my hair for being so strong and putting up with my antics of trying to dye it a bajillion colors in one week. I actually wanted the color to be a sandy blonde/brown color and when I first did it, I had ended up lightening my roots too much and the rest of my hair looked like a plain brown. So then I had tried to redo the whole thing with the same color hoping that the second process would even the color out. Forty minutes later did become lighter but so did my roots! So attempt number 3 I tried to dye it with a Garnier color called Hot Tamale. LoL. The description was a "light auburn blonde" so I figured why not try it and hopefully it'll come out decent. Yeah the color was a deep auburn and my roots where still like "AHHHH, look at me the owner of this hair totally screwed up her DIY hair dye job!" so finally I went to Rite Aid and picked up this thing called Color Oops! It saved my tri-colored hair because it took out all the color I had put in recently.

It took a total of 30 minutes of rinsing for me to get the color out. The final result was the initial color I had wanted. A non brassy simple golden beige. I had figured that I would leave my hair alone now that achieved the goal I want. I was happy as could be too because it looked pretty even (roots and all) but the sandy color made me look too washed out. So I figured I would try a final time to color it now that it was even and used another box of the Garnier Hot Tamale shade.

Success!

It came out a little darker than the box, but the color oops warned that the shade would probably be darker so I wasn't too alarmed.

What do you guys think? Do you like it?

EoTD!

Just wanted to show my EOTD!

I used:
Maybelline Stylish Smokes Quad in Mocha
Christian Siriano Kajal Eyeline in Eclipse
UD 24/7 eyeliner in Stash
Falsies from Pretty and Cute

And I'm wearing my Geo Nudy lenses in grey.

I have been trying to lighten my hair on my own. My roots are a bit lighter than the rest of my head. It's not that noticeable but it irks the crap out of me if you know what i mean. So I might have to do my whole head...again. My hair must hate me lol.

Anyway I hope all you pretty ladies are doing well! <3

This is so random but I am soooo excited that Holly Ann Aeree is following me on Twitter and subbed me!! <3
