A Review: MAKE UP FOREVER HD Invisible Cover Foundation

I finally joined the bandwagon and bit the bullet for this foundation. I am glad that I did though! Make Up Forever's HD foundation has been the Holy Grail for many people, including many YouTube Guru's. What do I think? I really like it, a lot. I think that this is what a high end foundation should be like. No heaviness or cake-like appearance, and it should apply with ease and blend flawlessly into the face.

So what does Sephora say about it?
HD Invisible Cover Foundation
What it is:An oil-free medium-to-full-coverage liquid foundation that covers skin imperfections flawlessly while remaining invisible on-screen and in real life.

What it does:
This foundation creates a soft-focus effect, which is designed to meet the coverage concerns of those in the spotlight. It leaves your complexion with such a flawless finish, it can withstand bright or harsh lighting.

Now, onto the price. This foundation costs a whopping $42 USD! This is one of the reasons why I hesitated and waited so long to purchase this foundation. Anyone who is tight on money can find other alternatives for this foundation. Many people have compared Revlon's PhotoReady foundation to this, I personally don't think they're that similar, however Revlon's foundation is a favorite of mine and costs a fraction of the price. If you are looking for a dewy finish that looks nice for photos and are on a budget I would suggest that you check out the PhotoReady foundation.

The MUFE foundation contains 1.01 fluid ounces and has no SPF. This is a great foundation for photos. There is no white cast whatsoever. At Sephora, a person can select from over 20 shades, which can be overwhelming if you're unsure of what color you are. When I first checked out the line, I had researched online to find matches. At the time I thought I was a NC 25 from MAC (I'm darker now) and many people said that MUFE's HD foundation in 118 was a match. I asked for a sample and took it to Vegas with me back in April and found that it was too light for me. When I finally purchased it about a month ago, I was deciding between 120 and 123. I ended up going with 123 since it disappeared and matched my neck.

I apply this foundation with my ELF Studio Flat Top Powder Brush and set it with MUFE's HD Microfinishing Powder. You don't have to set it with their powder, I think any translucent powder should do. The foundation doesn't feel heavy and does cover all my redness. I usually take about one and a half pumps to cover my entire face. On to the pictures!

Pros:
-No SPF, great for photos
-A variety of shades to choose from
-Comes with pump
-Creates a dewy flawless finish
-Medium to full coverage

Cons:
-Can be expensive
-A variety of shades to choose from, lol
-Needs to be set with a powder

Would I repurchase: Yes I would

Have you guys tried this foundation? Do you love it? Hate it? I wanna know!

  1. I've tried the sample and thought the coverage was too much for me... I don't need much anyways and you already know I rarely wear makeup on a daily base... just on occasions, especially when I know there's going to be cameras around =] Does it break out on you and do you put primer on before applying the foundation? Have you tried their press powder? I'm interested in the press powder... I think with the Revlon's PhotoReady liquid foundation, it's good for photos but only with no flash.

  5. I'm glad you jumped on this wagon! I noticed ppl say they can get a full coverage with this but I never seem to be able to. I feel like it just melds into my skin except where the acne is. The acne eventually sucks up the foundation and sticks out (on ALL fdn that I've tried). I think I'm also more oily than I thought... Oi. It applies like a dream and feels so nice though! I still love it but I think I'm gonna try something else when I run out. First I'm going to try to apply this with the elf brush and see how that works :) Great review!

  9. Thanks for the review! I would like to try this out too but 42 is pretty hefty. Would you say it's too much coverage for everyday wear?
