FoTD: Taeyang Inspired/ Night Out

I was feeling a little creative today and decided to do a Taeyang inspired look. This even included me trying to tease my very long hair into a faux-hawk. Now I really wished I could have made my hair look as sexay as his, however no amount of hairspray or bobby pins could achieve it.

Believe it or not, Taeyang does wear eye makeup, it's subtle but still noticeable. There is some guy-liner and even matte brown shadow to bring more dimension to his eyes. Or the makeup artist wants all of his fans to melt under his intense smoldering stare. haha

I kicked it up a notch and made this an evening, rocker eyelook. I must say after playing two years with makeup it does not take me half as long to create a look like it used it.

Here's what I came up with:

What I used:
Face:
-MUFE HD Foundation 118 & 123 Mixed
-MAC Studio Pressed Powder NC40
-MAC Skinsheen Bronzer in Tan-tint
-MAC Careblend Powder in Gold-Go-Lightly

Eyes:
-UD Primer Potion
-NYX E/S in Black
-UD Buck, Naked, Virgin, and Darkhorse from Naked Palette
-Maybelline Falsies Mascara
-NYX Eyebrown Cake Powder in Taupe

Lips
-Cover Girl Delish Lipstick
-MAC Hibiscus on center

Happy Friday!!

K-Pop FoTD: Hyuna's "Bubble Pop"

As of late I have been listening to a lot of K-Pop music. My current fave is Hyuna's "Bubble Pop." This song just makes me want to dance. I also love the whole cropped top with short shorts look. I tried looking for her Joyrich red "Boy" top, but I can't find it anywhere to purchase T.T

I noticed that Bubz and Jen from Frmheadtotoe both did an inspired "Bubble Pop" look. I thought both were gorgeous and unique. Just watching the videos made my hands itch to play with my makeup.

The look I took inspiration from wasn't from the video itself but the promo pictures for the mini album:

If you look closely, there is a pop of a caramel bronze color at the inner corner of her eye. I must admit I had a lot of fun recreating the look especially since I was dancing along to the song while applying my makeup. I didn't add falsies since it looked like Hyuna wasn't wearing any. The more I think about it, the more I think this is a great look for the summer.

Products Used:
Face
-MAC Prolong Wear Foundation NC30
-CoverGirl Simply Ageless Concealer 210
-MAC MSF in Medium Pus
-MAC Careblend Powder in Gold-Go-Lightly
-MAC Warmth of Coral Blush
-MAC MSF in Semi Precious

Eyes:
-UD Half-Baked
-MAC Saffron
-UD Smog
-UD 24/7 Eyeliner in Zero
-Fairy Drops Scandal Queen Mascara

Lips:
-Revlon Fire & Ice Blotted
-Kiehl's lip balm in Pear

Have you heard this song yet? If not, play the video for happy-go-lucky feelings. Believe me, this song will stay in your head!

Review: HANA Titanium Ionic Flat Iron

About a month ago, John from Misikko had asked me to review another hair styling product. If you don't recall, Misikko is an online store that sells mostly hair oriented styling tools and products like HANA styling tools and the Biosilk haircare line. The styling tool that John wanted me to review was the HANA Titanium Ionic Flat Iron. After some corresponding emails, I received a large package from Misikko.
The company is very customer service oriented and ships the product out lightning fast. The company was also kind enough to gift me extra goodies that did not come with the flat iron itself. If you have any inquiries or questions, do not hesitate to contact Misikko.

The straightener I received was the HANA 1.5" Titanium Ionic Flat Iron. This flat iron has an on/off switch with adjustable heat. The highest temperature you can set it to is 450 degrees F. Waiting time for this iron beings as fast as 6 seconds which is super quick. The straightener is made with titanium plates that disallow hair snagging and also ensure a sleek finish. The straightener is also pretty wide, the plate size measuring at 1 1/2". Another plus about this styling tool is that it has an 8 foot long swivel cord allowing you more than enough space to style your hair. The edges of the iron are also slightly curved allowing for various styles including curling your hair.

This flat iron was easy to hold and maneuver in my hands. It didn't feel very heavy nor did my arms get tired. Though priced at $174.99 USD, this flat iron does come with a 2 year warranty. I would have to say that even though it's a tad bit expensive, it blows my drugstore flat irons out of the water and competes with other salon brands.

The Hana Titanium flat iron works well with my hair. When not styled, there is a very slight wave to it as you can see in the pictures. This flat iron left my hair soft, smooth and sleek. I also decided to test this flat iron out when I went up to see my best friend in New Hampshire. She has thick, beautiful curly hair that she often straightens.
Ironing out her hair didn't take long at all, which is another perk to this tool. Once the hair goes through the iron, it comes out sleek and straight. I hope the comparison of the two allows you to see how efficient and great of a flat iron this is.

If you are looking for a larger plated flat iron that provides salon results, I would definitely look into this flat iron. Though it may seem like a big investment, this will pay for itself in the many uses to come.

***This product was sent to me for review. I do not make any money from reviewing it. These are my honest thoughts and opinions! =)

MAC Semi Precious Blush and Shadow Haul

I first caught a glimpse of the Semi-Precious line in a Marie Claire magazine about a month or so ago.  I immediately went insane over the shadows and the blushes. For some reason I love the swirled baked aesthetic appeal of it.

Now due to my immensely growing makeup collection, I couldn't buy every single shade. After much reviewing and YouTube watching, I decided to settled on...all three blushes and three of the eyeshadows.
Feeling Flush is really pigmented and great for darker and cool skin tones. Warmth of Coral is a beautiful peachy blush that can come off a little powdery on darker skin tones. Pressed Amber is a beautiful brown that is great to add some warmth to your face.

My Mineral Mode looks nothing like the promo picture. I think I just got an un-swirled one. Golden Gaze is my favorite, great to use for a smokey eye. Rare Find I have not used yet but I think it will pair lovely with hazel and brown eyes.

What did you get from the line??

June Favorites!

I haven't done a favorites post in ages! I truly apologize, it has been my fault that the past few months I've been randomly trying different products and not sticking to certain particular items. However, this past month I've been consistently using certain products that I have been loving. Huzzah!

1-MAC Surf, Baby! Studio Careblend Pressed Powder in Gold-Go-Lightly: This is the powder that I've been using to contour my face every time I go apply my makeup. The powder is fine and blends really well. This probably has replaced my NARS Laguna bronzer especially since it's a matte powder.

2-MAC Bite of an Apple Blush: This blush is super pigmented and leaves a lovely glow on my cheeks. This was originally from the Venomous Villans collection.

3-Inglot custom palette: I bought this palette when I was in Vegas and chose the colors myself. I love that I can throw this in my bag for touch ups and also cause it's very neutral, but still versatile enough for an evening look. Top colors: KI13CF, KE28CF Bottom: KH17CK, KH05CC

4-Jack Black Lip balm in Grapefruit & Ginger: My new favorite lip balm! My lips have been so smooth and moisturized since I've started using this. I also have the black tea and blackberry one in my purse. Both smell amazing.

5-Lancome Custom Design Lipstick in Oh My!: I got the lipstick as a gift with purchase when I purchased their summer Color Fever glosses. This is such a lovely color. I thought it would super brown how the sheer wash of color is beautiful. I would describe it as a peach color with shimmer. I think it's neutral enough to wear everyday but some reviewers from MUA believe it's too shimmery for work. /Shrugs

6-Lancome Color Fever Lip Gloss in Peach Paradise: I have to thank Steph for turning me on to these glosses. For some reason I thought the Color Fever glosses would be sticky and tacky. I based this assumption off their Juicy Tubes which I don't like at all. These glosses are smooth and apply like a dream. I highly recommend!

7-Cover Girl & Olay Simply Ageless Eye Concealer in 210: This brightens up my eyes and applies like a cream. Word of advice, if the color seems a little too dark in the jar, remember the white stripes of the Olay serum will lighten it. I do not recommend using this around the nose if you are Oily/Combo. It gets a little slick.

I also decided to add my jewelry favorites!

1-Octopus Necklace from Tia's Place: I fell in love with this necklace when I was in Grand Central Station. I was stuck between choosing the ring or the necklace and felt the necklace was more versatile. I have yet to name him (I have a habit of naming things) but I've been wearing this necklace with everything!

2-Jewelmint Sweetheart Ring: I've been eyeing this ring since the website launched. Now that I finally have it, I've been wearing the ring on my index finger or middle finger.

3-Eve's Addiction Elephant's on a Parade Ring: I'm a huge lover of elephants and have been told that they are good luck. I had been searching for an elephant ring that wasn't gaudy or obnoxious looking and fell in love with this one. There are three elephants each connected by their trunk and tail.

Whew, this was a longer post than I expected! Hope all of you are well and Happy 4th if I don't post before then!
